How to Deliver Drone Spare Parts from China to Ukraine

Technology is evolving rapidly, and drones have become an integral part of many industries. They are especially relevant now as they are used for military purposes. DiFFreight answers the most important question: is it possible to import quality FPV drone components from China?

Can You Order Chinese FPV Drone Parts by Yourself?

Geopolitical circumstances strongly influence international trade. Since 2023, China has introduced restrictions on the export of parts and components for UAVs and electronic warfare equipment, creating a market shortage.

Officially, the country has taken a neutral stance and does not supply weapons to either side. The well-known Chinese company DJI has stopped direct drone sales to Ukraine and to partner countries that could potentially transfer them. Ukrainians cannot simply order drones from China. Similarly, the USA and EU have imposed restrictions on high-tech components.

As a result, buying parts for drone assembly is difficult. The next stage — shipping cargo from China to Ukraine — is also different from standard procedures, so we do not recommend doing it on your own. We also offer to use the service of searching for suppliers in China.

How to Deliver Drones to Ukraine — DiFFreight’s Recommendations

Delivery is a complex process, as many components and models are subject to restrictions. However, there are alternative routes for exporting drone parts.

DiFFreight offers to ship quadcopter parts in batches starting from 300 kg. The route goes through Hong Kong, with a delivery time of about 20 days. Different delivery terms apply for propellers, batteries, and electronics — we’ll explain everything in detail during a consultation. Rates are adaptive: we’ll find the perfect balance between speed and price.

Important: We are not liable in the event of customs seizure of the goods.

Why such a large shipment:

  • High risks of customs inspections and delays. Small cargo is often hidden in household goods. DiFFreight does not use this method, as the delay of one shipment can disrupt timelines for others. We cannot allow 1.5 tons of goods to be stuck because of a small batch of parts.
  • Long delivery times. Small boxes can be shipped through third countries (Korea, Japan), which takes 30–40 days.
  • High cost for high-risk shipments.

DiFFreight develops individual solutions for each client, tailored to volume, delivery time, and price requirements.

How to Order Drone Components: Is Customs Clearance Required

Since 2023, Ukraine has abolished mandatory certification, customs duties, and taxes if the shipment is marked with a special UAV code (UKTZED 8806221010). This identifies it as “defense” goods, which are not subject to taxation. Consumer drones weighing up to 20 kg are not subject to special import licensing, nor are their components.
